2.75 in. H Ceramic Kitchen Canister, white, with .25 in. sand-blasted oak lid by Vincent Van Duysen. Though beautiful alone, Van Duysen's collection of ceramic containers was conceived as an entity that evokes the shelves of stacked vessels in a potter's studio. Read as a series, the differences of scale and color create powerful rhythms and modulations expressed in the subtle but intense palette of a northern European sky. The series consists of three different heights to be matched with three different thicknesses of wood lids in a selection of colors. Stacked, these containers make a serene and sober abstract object for display in any room, but are designed to contain and conceal. Try flour, sugar, rice and pasta in the kitchen; pens, pencils, post-its and clips in the home office; or lighters, napkins, a note pad and pen on the coffee table. Made in Belgium.
