Tord Boontje created Table Stories using basic shapes and unique dinnerware patterns. Boontje's variety of designs gives each piece of tableware a festive character. The ceramic patterns are filled with flowers, deer, squirrels, birds, bear, butterflies, horses, bunnies, and a peacock. Many of the images are hidden in the Table Stories patterns. The graphics images are applied as an under-glaze print. This is an old ceramic technique by which the image is first fired onto the ceramic body and a second clear glaze is applied on top.
