The Stelton EM vacuum jug is a Fitzsu favorite, this is not your father’s thermos; this thermal carafe is a modern design classic. The EM vacuum jug was designed by Eric Magnussen for Stelton of Denmark in 1977. It is a perfect example Magnussen’s minimalist approach to design focusing on function and ease of use. The Stelton vacuum jug was an immediate success and immediately viewed as a Danish Design Icon winning the Danish ID Design Prize in 1977. Stelton has sold over 10 million of these modern Danish thermal carafes making it the modernist choice for serving hot beverages. The critical acclaim and financial success of the Stelton Jug made Eric Magnussen the obvious successor to Arne Jacobsen, who passed away in 1971. The Stelton thermos comes with two types of lids to keep the contents of the carafe hot in different situations. One screw top lid for safe leak less travel and one rocker stopper lid which opens automatically as coffee was poured out of the jug.
