POTT 2716 flatware in 18/10 Inox, 5 pc set. Includes: table knife, table fork, table spoon, coffee spoon and dessert fork. With Model 16 in 1935 Carl Pott established the classic Pott style. Carl Pott was a firm believer in the maxims of Werkbund and Bauhaus: the goal of all creative efforts should be simplicity, functionalism and truth to materials. In Model 16 Carl Pott defined the essence of a modern form which was for its time avant-garde in the world of cutlery. In Germany it was almost unsaleable. Recognition for Model 16 came from France: at the Paris World Fair of 1937 Carl Pott was awarded the Der goldene Loffel for it. This was at the time the highest award possible for cutlery. And recognition came also, for example, from Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, who equipped his retinue with Potts Model 16.
