iittala aika with graphics - The iittala Aika series was designed by Professor Heikki Orvola, who, among other things, has created the successful Kivi votive for Iittala. The simple and bare pieces of Aika are timeless while the whole series is firmly rooted in today's world. In a category on their own are the large plates, whose very flat edges are shaped horizontally.
Heikki Orvola, known for his classic style, comments on the origin of the series: - The idea was to bring a festive series to the Iittala assortment, which can also be used for a variety of purposes. Elegance and beauty have been sought through large flat-edged plates, which also function excellently as service plates. - The deep, large dinner plate fits in well with today's dining trends. It is excellent for salads, pasta and meat dishes, in other words, it serves many purposes. Although the dishes are large, the overall look of the series is still light and delicate.
