The Arnolfo di Cambio Mapan crystal modern glass was designed by Sergio Asti who has always been involved with architecture, interior design, and industrial design. one of the pioneers of industrial design in the ’50s, Asti has been awarded many honorary titles and awards by various institutions such as the Milan Triennale, the Compasso d’Oro, the MoMA in New York. Arnolfo di Cambio is a company that specializes in the production of fine crystal objects made in Italy, whose cut, reflection and light refraction are exalted by being handcrafted using ancient techniques and timeless designs, reinterpreting classical forms while making them contemporary. Unlike an industrial process which is a repetitive production line stamping out identical copies of one model, making the Arnolfo di Cambio Mapan glassware is a traditional craft that has been handed down and learned from the ancient glassblowers of Colle Val d’Elsa, who since ancient times have practiced this difficult art of mouth-blown crystal glassware.
