The Alessi Asta cutlery or modern flatware collection is designed by Alessandro Mendini, a famous architect designer that is responsible for conceiving and overseeing some of Alessi' s most renowned design projects. It was the first stainless steel flatware designed by Mendini for Alessi. The design features a slightly different knife handle in contrast to the rest of the pieces. This small detail is put to great ergonomic use by those who are familiar with the eating style of Western Europeans, often called continental style. The curve of Asta' s knife handles rest nicely on the palm of your hand while you eat your entire meal without ever setting your knife down. Asta silverware is made of mirror polished 18/10 stainless steel and is dishwasher safe.
