| Shop Profile At Pasadena's FItzsu, Su Sazama and her husband opened an offshoot of their L.A.-based temple to modern design. Where: 65 W Green St., Pasadena, CA, 626-564-1908, fitzsu.com. Background: "When my husband, Fitz, and I [hence the store's name] got married, we couldn't find a single place that carried everything we wanted to register for. So we opened out L.A. boutique four years ago. We debuted this, our second location is Pasadena last October. Philosophy: "We sell modern products that have been thoughtfully designed- especially objects that contribute to the little rituals of life." Vibe: "It's bigger than the L.A. store, and we chose white oak tables because that appeals to us right now. Although the space seems minimalist, the abundance of products counteracts that feel." I can't keep in stock: "A sleek lazy Susan that's great for the kitchen or coffee table." Tse & Tse Revolving Tray, $58. "So whimsical- the designers have a very feminine sense of humor." Tse & Tse salt and pepper shakers, $25 each. "It looks like coral, but it's really porcelain molded from a sponge." iittala Fire Tea Light Holder, $45. "A playful plastic frame-you can change the color with removeable transparancies." Monnalisa Wall Frame (11" X 11"), $78. "Brilliant: The rubber ring has a magnet that clings to the keyhole plate." Nava key chain, $15. Lucky October 2004 pgs. 279, 280. | |
