Featured in the exhibit are: Frank Gehry's "Pito" Kettle, Michael Graves' Water Kettle, Richard Sapper's "Bandung" Teakettle, Philippe Starck's "Hot Bertaa" Kettle, Pierangelo Caramia's "Penguin Tea" TeapotAndrea Branzi's "Mama-O" Kettle, Carlo Alessi's "Bombe" Teapot, Ufficio Tecnico Alessi Teapot, Richard Sapper's Water Kettle with Melodic Whistle, Aldo Rossi's "Il Conico" Kettle, Michael Graves NEW Electric Kettle. Europeans have been boiling water with electrical kettles for many years, so it only makes sense that, when Alessi introduces the electric kettle to Americans, designer Michael Graves designs it. Fitzsu Society is launching the Graves electric water kettle by raffling one off at the end of the evening on July 25. Alessi is making commonplace gestures more pleasing, more straightforward, and more personal that has developed Alessi, since 1921, into one of the worlds most recognized manufacturers of household items. Although Americans are just starting to catch on, abroad most households are familiar with the Italian company's products. Their new designs by different well-known designers have always been a curiosity with people who know Alessi and lend themselves to being collectibles. | |
