Iittala Dewdrop glass modern dinnerware collection is also called Kastehelmi. The Dewdrop dishware glassware was originally designed in 1964 by Oiva Toikka, the designer of Iittala's famous birds. To celebrate his 50 years with designing for Iittala, the most popular pieces are being reintroduced. Challenged with the visible joints created in his pressed glass designs, Toikka came up with using droplets of glass to hide the marks that were made during production. The result is transparent glass plates and bowls with a textured exterior in the pattern of water drops. Use as platters, accent pieces to other iittala dishware, or as a dinner set entirely of glass.
