Her initial intention was to create simple, no-frills functionality, just like when the chef sticks a fork into the lemon when pressed. Hence its shape allows the user to squeeze the fruit directly over the place where the juice is needed. As an extra detail, Villadsen has shaped the citrus juicer to make it equally useful for large and small fruits, since it turns around, allowing the ends to work as either handles or presses.
