The Alessi 9090 10 cup espresso coffee maker is made of mirrored polished 18/10 stainless steel with molded bronze and stainless steel handle. The 9090 was not only the first espresso coffee machine in Alessi's history, but it was the first Alessi object designed for the kitchen after the 1930s. It also gained the company their first Compasso d'Oro Award in 1979; and it is on display in the Permanent Design Collection at the MOMA in New York. Beautiful in the kitchen and beautiful at the table, the Sapper espresso stove top espresso maker is unique in that in order to access the water and coffee chamber, one only has to lift up from the bottom of the handle and pull the bottom apart from the body of the maker. Traditional stove top espresso makers require unscrewing.
