The Alessi Porthos wine glass is a multipurpose glass intended for both red and white wine. It was designed with its sister glass the Acqua which equally doubles for water, juice, or simple any beverage you like. These glasses were designed with the Alessi Yong flatware and the Alessi Pluto dishware as a complete family. But clearly the all rules are broken with these designs by Venturini Guido. The unmistakable, strong theme of his poetic emerges once again: the anthropomorphic and fetishistic iconography that hints at the shadow zone expressed through an elegantly neo-primitive language. The Porthos may be like no true crystal glass successfully representing the human figure like so many of Venturini's other works created in more forgiving mediums. Year of production: 2001, Packaging: 6 pieces in a box, Wine glass in lead crystal.
