The Alessi Asta Cutlery or Flatware collection is designed by Alessandro Mendini, a famous architect and designer that is responsible for conceiving and overseeing some of Alessi's most renowned design projects was released in 2004. It was the first flatware designed by Mendini for Alessi. The Asta flatware series is made up of 12 pieces in total. The design feature a slightly different knife handle in contrast to the rest of the pieces. This small detail is put to great ergonomic use by those who are familiar with the eating style of Western Europeans often called continental style.
