The design is supposed to be like a super mod concept car that you would see at the auto show, but Playsam-ified. It was my intention to bring some irony to the piece by using the blocky Playsam wheels to contrast against the abstracted futuristic body. There is also some subtle humor added because I include a spare tire attached to the back.
I chose to use a figure to humanize the design. The figure is literally the central focus, because the negative space of the cab is exactly concentric to the head’s center point, and the center of his head is also perfectly aligned to look straight out of the windshield which is done through the use of negative space instead of positive space.
