Richard Sapper designed the Alessi La Cintura d'Orione cookware with the consulting guidance of Gualtiero Marchesi, known as the father of modern Italian cuisine. Originally designed in copper, the stainless steel version uses a technology of running a layer of Aluminum between layers of stainless steel to emulate the copper's heat distribution qualities.
