Erik Magnussen was born in 1940 in Copenhagen. He studied as a ceramist at the School of Applied Arts and Design.  Magnussen has designed furniture for Fritz Hansen, door handles for Franz Schneider Brakel, lighting for for Licht & Form and tabletop accessories for Royal Selangor and Stelton. Magnussen has won just about every design award in existence for his personalized take on Danish modern design. His design work is noted for its integration of function and form. A Magnussen designed object is easy to use and simple in its form making his pieces practical and popular. His EM Vacuum Jug for Stelton has sold over 10 million units around the world. He emerged as Stelton’s leading designer following the passing of Arne Jacobsen with a design style completely of his own but embodying the spirit of Stelton as it passed to a new generation.
